Opportunity:


RN - ICU


Job Details:


• Work in a multi-specialty ICU environment treating high acuity neuro, post cardiovascular surgery, medical, surgical, and trauma patients
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Block scheduling may be available but is not guaranteed
• No on-call requirements
• Up to 7 days of time off may be approved
• Called off up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required
• First-time travelers considered upon review
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Required skills include: trachs, vents, chest tubes, vasoactive drips, procedural recoveries, and temporary pacemakers
• CRRT experience required
• Special competencies required for post cardiovascular recoveries, CRRT, and neuro patients - contract staff may not be assigned to this population without required competencies
• No pediatrics, burns, or transplant patients
• Charting system: EPIC
• Equipment used: Alaris and Pyxis
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Free parking available outside the inpatient entrance
• May be required to float to med-surg units in rotation when needed
• Unit support includes CNA coverage at 1:12 ratio, charge nurse without assignment, centralized tele monitoring with a tech, bedside monitoring, 24-hour intensivist coverage, mid-level coverage, full-time ICU educator, and CV coordinator


Facility:


This medical center is a Level II Trauma Center and serves as both a Primary and Comprehensive Stroke Center. The facility features a 167-bed hospital with a 36-bed ICU, along with a Level III NICU and Level III Maternity unit. The organization provides robust support staff on the unit including a full-time ICU educator, CV coordinator, 24-hour intensivist coverage, and centralized telemetry monitoring to ensure high-quality patient care.
