Hatchery Associate I

Job Description Summary:Aviagen is a leading poultry breeding company with opportunities all across the globe. We are currently looking for individuals for Hatch Crew position. This position will be responsible to transfer the eggs from the setter to the hatcher and will take care of cleaning and sanitizing machines, floors, walls and ceilings.Job Description:Responsible for cleanliness throughout the hatchery buildingClean/sanitize machines, tables, floors, ceilings, etc.Transfer eggs from setters to hatchersMake boxes and other general dutiesHandle day-old chicks in accordance with welfare standards and SOP’sMeet all of the operating procedures as outlined by company policyPrepare newly hatched chicks for sexing and farm deliveryPerform other duties as assignedMust have a very flexible scheduleQualifications:High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not requiredMust be able to complete repetitive work and stand for extended periods of timeAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and work under pressureMust be able to perform tasks with limited supervisionProven reliability in work attendance and willingness to give best effortMust have own reliable transportationPhysical Requirements:Ability to handle moderate physical workWork with chemicals, such as detergents, disinfectantsStand for extended periods of time (6 hours)Grip, grasp or twist using hands and wristsLift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50lbsBend and stoop repetitively throughout out shiftProlonged exposure to dry and dusty environmentsRoutinely work up to 6 days a week, including weekends and holidaysRoutine handling and interacting with day-old chicksOngoing presence of hatchery related debris, smells and odorsClimate exposure both hot and coldWorking in damp and/or wet environmentWorking in a loud/noisy environmentBenefits: Aviagen provides a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the healthcare and financial well-being of our employees.
