Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Schedule: 3 weekdays, 8am to 5pm (Part Time). Agency: Baptist Health Home Care. Sign‑On Bonus: $5,000. How You’ll Work You will provide home‑based skilled speech therapy care for patients as directed by the attending physician and educate patients and their family members while ensuring patient safety. Major Areas of Responsibility Plan of Care: Develop an individualized ST plan of care and make adjustments as needs change. Guide the patient in using therapeutic, creative, and self‑care activities to improve functioning. Observe, record, and report patient reactions, changes, and progress to the attending physician and agency staff. Patient Outcomes: Use activities and home exercise programs to improve swallowing, breathing, cognition, speech and communication, or other speech‑therapy related functions. Minimize Patient Risk: Teach the patient preventative measures to reduce rehospitalizations and help them make good decisions. Family Educator/Advocate: Counsel patient and family on the disease/injury and how to manage it in all phases of speech therapy. Policies: Complete all clinical documentation following agency protocol and Medicare/Federal guidelines. Rules and Regulations: Follow agency policies, procedures, rules, and regulations and communicate schedule changes to schedulers or supervisors. Operations: Attend in‑service training and mandatory agency meetings. Hard & Soft Skills Compassionate communicator with a positive attitude. Patience in working with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers. Attention to detail and observant following of directions. Requirements Speech Therapist with a current license in the state of employment. Minimum one‑year experience as an ST in an acute care setting; home care experience preferred.
