Sterile Processing Technician

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for decontaminating, cleaning, and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment. They must follow aseptic techniques and industry standards for sterilization. Experience in an acute hospital operating room setting is essential. The technician will participate in high-level disinfection processes and proper labeling procedures. The role requires proficiency in using sterilizers, washers, and cleaning equipment. Attention to detail is crucial for assembling instrument trays correctly. The technician will be required to float to assist in other departments as necessary. They will also engage in weekend on-call responsibilities per the schedule. Compliance with safe handling of biological indicators and chemical agents is mandatory.

Minimum of 2 years required experience, active DC or MD license required, IAHCSMM or HSPA certification required, acute hospital OR experience required, travel experience required, basic computer skills required, on-call duties required.
