We are hiring for multiple Food Service Worker positions at various levels to bring exceptional food service to our community. Positions Available Cashiers Dishwashers Servers Cooks This is a New York State Civil Service position subject to applicable Civil Service laws, rules, and regulations. Key Responsibilities Perform a variety of tasks in food preparation, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment, refrigerators, and kitchen areas. Assist with deliveries and assure proper temperature and storage of products. Transport food and supplies to preparation and serving areas. Weigh, measure, and prepare ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, and simple foods (sandwiches, hamburgers, eggs, toast, coffee, tea, salads). Set, wait on, and serve tables; clean dining room and service areas. Wash dishes and serving utensils by machine and hand. Inventory requisitions and store supplies. Supervise subordinate staff in food preparation and service activities. Plan and schedule appropriate coverage; provide training and review work for compliance. Inspect and correct food preparation, portion control, and sanitary standards. Investigate and resolve routine complaints. Prepare reports and documents of activities per agency procedure. Requisition needed supplies and oversee proper storage. Prepare work schedules and coordinate shift assignments. Orient new employees and participate in training. Ensure accurate time and accrual records. Job Requirements Physical ability to perform the tasks and fluency in English (both spoken and written). Prior experience in food service settings, especially in cleaning standards, food preparation, food service, or ordering supplies. Compensation The hourly rate will range from $16.50 to $25.00 per hour, depending on position level and experience.
