Senior Systems Engineer

The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Tucson, AZ. Details for the position are as follows:

Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer
Location: Tucson, AZ
Pay Rate: $50.00-$60.00/hr
Duration: 4.5 Months (through end of year, with potential extension)

Job Description

• Design, develop, integrate, and validate complex electro-mechanical systems from concept through testing.
• Develop and execute test methods, verification protocols, and Design of Experiments (DOE).
• Design and build test beds to evaluate system performance and reliability.
• Analyze digital sensor outputs and experimental data using Python and statistical methods.
• Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot complex electromechanical system issues.
• Author technical documentation including test protocols, validation reports, and engineering reports.
• Manage system requirements, risk assessments, and defect lifecycle activities.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are manufacturable and support product commercialization.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of systems engineering experience.

Required Skills

• Systems engineering for complex electro-mechanical devices.
• Test Method Validation (TMV) and Test Method Development.
• Design of Experiments (DOE).
• Verification & Validation (V&V) testing.
• Risk and requirements management.
• Python for engineering data analysis and automation.
• Digital sensor data acquisition and analysis.
• Test bed development and system integration.
• Root cause analysis and engineering troubleshooting.
• Technical writing (test protocols, validation reports, engineering documentation).
• Defect lifecycle management and defect tracking.
• Design verification, reliability testing, and system performance evaluation.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with FDA or FAA regulated product development.
• Medical device, aerospace, industrial automation, robotics, or other complex electromechanical systems.
• Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., IBM DOORS, Jama, Polarion, Retina).
• Manufacturing process development and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
• Experience supporting released products and sustaining engineering.
