Job Title: Radiologic Technologist

Description:
The Radiologic Technologist performs radiology procedures on patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.
Performs high quality radiology procedures, according to exam protocol, in a timely manner.
Maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures.
Demonstrates an understanding of radiation dose reference levels, radiation dose monitoring, and actions to be taken if the estimated dose exceeds set dose reference levels.
Utilizes effective communication techniques when interacting with patients to identify service requirements and establish rapport.
Instructs and communicates with patients and their family regarding the test to be performed and assesses patient's ability to tolerate the exam.
Prepares patient and area for procedure by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, and moving equipment into specified position.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, and radiation policies, protocols, and techniques.
Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards.
Reports issues to management or appropriate department.
Assists in maintaining supplies inventory.
Ensures individuals are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures.
Obtains, verifies, and maintains all relevant documentation such as requisition/chart, patient history, and consent forms.
Maintains medical imaging records in appropriate system according to department policies and standards.
Demonstrates current knowledge and skills appropriate for the care of all age groups.
Serves as a preceptor by providing quality training to new team members.
Able to perform tasks independently without routine oversight.
Maintains a calm and helpful attitude and takes reasonable steps to resolve issues.
Demonstrates effective customer service by limiting wait times and providing courteous service.
