And we do, because a trusted partner is who we are – and who we've been for nearly a century.Position PurposeThe Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to reactive, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes.ResponsibilitiesOperate equipment and tools as needed to perform workPerform maintenance and installations on a variety of equipment, buildings and systemsPerform preventative maintenance on all equipment as neededUse manufacturers manuals, instructions, schematic diagrams, plans and sketchesElectrical and mechanical troubleshootingDetect and report any unusual conditions or major maintenance needs to proper supervisorRepair off-road heavy equipment (if applicable)Work with overhead cranesImplement cost-saving maintenance programsAdhere to environmental and stormwater pollution prevention policiesHousekeeping as necessary to maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and orderly mannerMust adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulationsCharacteristicsPerception and visual abilities must be goodMust be safety-consciousAble to work independentlyUnderstanding of chemical safetyKnowledge of electrical (up to 480 volts 3 phase)Knowledge of diesel mechanicsKnowledge of hydraulic systemsExperience in repair of pneumatic hand tools and concrete vibrators preferredAble to read tape measure to 1/16Intermediate reading, writing and math skillsEducation & TechnologyHigh school diploma or GED equivalent preferredTrade or technical school certification or 2-5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience preferred1-2 years hands-on maintenance experienceMetromont LLC (Company) is an equal opportunity employer.
