POSITION TITLE: Casualty Claims Representative STATUS: Exempt COMPENSATION RANGE: $55,000-70,000 Annually LOCATION: This is a fully remote position, must live in the state of Virginia REPORTS TO: Casualty Claims Manager Casualty Claims Representative Virginia Farm Bureau is seeking a customer focused Casualty Claims Representative to join our claims team. The role is responsible for handling a variety of claims and providing efficient settlements in accordance with company procedures and standards. When it comes to insurance, we’re all about providing tailored coverage to Virginia families and small businesses. POSITION Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm Full-Time position (37.50 hours per week) - This is a fully remote position, must live in the state of Virginia. PRIMARY DUTIES Investigate all losses assigned for Virginia Farm Bureau members Comply with company policies and procedures in the handling of all losses and other company matters. Report all activity on all claim files to the company promptly. Prioritize First Contact Settlement Communications with Claimants Promptly reply to all complaints as requested. Advise Underwriting Department on all poor risks Assist and give guidance to other claim personnel as requested. All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS College degree or equivalent work experience Minimum 5+ years claims handling experience Knowledge of the Motor Vehicle Code of Virginia Knowledge of tort laws affecting civil cases Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills Strong investigation and settlement skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS Knowledge of insurance contracts issued by the company Experience with casualty insurance claims Completion of AIC, CPCU or SCLA designation At VA Farm Bureau, we provide an exceptional benefits package, including ongoing job development and support in all roles, paid training and continuing education reimbursement, medical and dental insurance available on your first day, generous employee 401K contribution, excellent Paid Time off (PTO) plan and more!
