Registered Nurse - PICU

$1591.20/week -

Job Summary:

Provides specialized pediatric intensive care nursing services to critically ill children in a Cardiac CVICU environment. Ensures the delivery of compassionate, patient-centered care aligned with unit standards and protocols.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer advanced nursing care to pediatric patients with congenital heart disease and post-operative needs.
  
  
• 
  Monitor and interpret patient vital signs, arterial lines, central lines, and other complex medical equipment.
  
  
• 
  Perform procedures such as intubation, extubation, sternal closures, and line placements.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  
  
• 
  Maintain accurate documentation in the Meditech EMR system.
  
  
• 
  Respond to code events and emergent situations swiftly and effectively.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Have a minimum of 1 year of Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as a staff nurse.
  
  
• 
  Possess 2+ years of pediatric ICU or cardiac step-down nursing experience.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency with caring for patients with congenital heart disease and post-operative management.
  
  
• 
  Hold active PALS, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
  
  
• 
  Be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas or eligible for licensure.
