Structural Engineer

The Impact Youll Make

• Design and repair of highway and interstate bridge projects from conception through completion
• Perform structural engineering calculations and analyses throughout all project phases from preliminary to final design
• Develop comprehensive plans specifications technical reports and cost estimates
• Provide construction support services including responding to requests for information (RFIs) and reviewing shop drawings
• Collaborate with project teams interdisciplinary consultants the Florida Department of Transportation and external reviewers to ensure quality and accuracy
• Mentor and develop junior engineering staff
• Oversee project documentation and ensure adherence to schedules budgets and scope requirements

Qualifications :

The Expertise Youll Bring

• Bachelors degree in civil engineering
• 8 years of hands-on structural design experience
• Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Proven experience in FDOT bridge design and plans production including reinforced concrete prestressed concrete post-tensioned substructures steel plate and box girder bridges retaining walls noise walls box culverts and sign/signal structures
• Advanced proficiency with structural design software such as Leap Bridge MDX FB Multi-Pier CSI Bridge LARSA STAAD Atlas and FDOT Mathcad Structures Design Programs
• Expert-level skills in structural drafting using MicroStation and OpenBridge Modeler

Preferred:

• Track record of managing engineering projects with strong attention to budget quality scope and stakeholder coordination
• Specialized experience designing steel plate and box girder bridges
