Baton Rouge Area Live-In Caregiver

Are you a compassionate and experienced caregiver looking to make a difference in the lives of seniors? Griswold Home Care is seeking dedicated Live‑In caregivers to join our team in Baton Rouge. As a Live‑In caregiver, you’ll provide essential non‑medical assistance to our clients, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life. Responsibilities This position is for clients who live in the greater Baton Rouge area (not Hammond) and requires commuting to the client's home during "on" weeks. The caregiver will stay a week at a time during their on weeks. This role is a Live‑In caregiver, where you will live in a client's home for 7 days at a time. Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs), including personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and companionship. Create a safe and supportive environment for clients. Foster meaningful connections with clients by engaging in conversation and companionship. Maintain accurate records of care provided. Qualifications Compassionate Provider: You genuinely care about the well‑being of others and are committed to making a positive impact. Professional Experience: At least 3 years of verified professional experience working with the elderly. Background Check: A clean criminal background record is required. References: Provide a minimum of 2 recent professional references (not friends or family). Driver’s License or State ID: Valid driver’s license or state‑issued ID required. Work Schedule Shifts structured as 7 days on, 7 days off – rotating. Caregivers must be able to stay the full 7 days for weeks they are working, except in limited situations. Typical schedule of 8–12.5 hours of work, 1.5 hours of uninterrupted meal time, and eight hours of non‑working, unpaid sleep time every workday. Hours may vary. Caregivers have a private room to sleep in and are available to assist the client overnight if needed (any worked time would be paid) while receiving adequate sleep time. Clients commonly allow caregivers a few hours of personal time per day while remaining in the home and still available to assist a client if needed. Compensation and Benefits Compensation: Starts at $185 per day plus meals. Room and board provided: private sleeping, storage space, and meals. Weekly Pay: Consistent pay on a weekly basis. Holiday Pay: 10 holidays paid at a rate of 1.5 times your regular wage. Continuing Education: Investment in professional growth.
