About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Marketing Officer to lead the strategic and executional aspects of marketing for its online marketplace. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving customer acquisition and retention, with a focus on building a strong, targeted brand and a robust CRM engine. This role is pivotal in a fast-growing, innovative, and pioneering environment, where the marketing team plays a critical role in the company's mission to become the world's most popular auction destination for special objects. The CMO will be expected to be a passionate marketeer, operationally savvy, a people leader, and a business leader with a strong connection between economic drivers and customer needs. The ideal candidate for the Chief Marketing Officer position at the company will be a passionate marketeer, obsessed with customers, and will have a deep expertise in at least two of the key marketing functions. They should be operationally savvy, with a hands-on work ethic, and a keen eye for numbers, ensuring that all activities are driven by clear, numeric KPIs. As a people leader, the CMO should have a proven track record of attracting, developing, and retaining a strong marketing team. A strong business acumen is essential, particularly in a fast-paced tech environment, with the ability to connect economic drivers to customer needs and effectively communicate at all levels. The candidate should also embody the values of taking ownership, being open to change and feedback, and being passionate about the company's mission and customers.
