District Manager - Primary Care - Charlottesville, VA

Amgen Inc

Amgen seeks a District Sales Manager for the Charlottesville, VA primary care market to lead district teams, manage sales performance, and serve as a clinical liaison to medical professionals. The role combines sales management, team development, and strategic collaboration across business units.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage district sales teams to achieve sales targets and budget goals
Provide clinical product knowledge to medical professionals and serve as customer liaison
Track marketing message effectiveness and allocate internal/external resources strategically
Conduct hiring, performance reviews, and ongoing coaching for team development
Coordinate cross-functionally with marketing, finance, and other business units on initiatives

Requirements

Doctorate degree and 2 years of sales/marketing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
2 years of managerial experience directly managing people or leading teams and programs
Ability to understand and articulate clinical concepts and data to healthcare professionals
Strong coaching and performance management skills with ability to diagnose and address behaviors
Knowledge of local payor coverage and market dynamics within territory
Recruitment and hiring capability for sales representatives
