Position Summary Ryder is hiring a Senior Level Diesel Technician in North Charleston, South Carolina — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a Technician career you can feel good about. Complete detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision. Replace defective components as instructed and manage most tasks unsupervised. Perform facility maintenance duties and interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints. Utilize system functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation. Work in compliance with all federal, provincial, and corporate safety, DOT, and maintenance guidelines. Mentor Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels. Access and use internal and external maintenance documents. Support extra duties as required, including Service Island support. Complete required training and diagnostic software courses as specified by fleet location. Qualifications Post‑secondary vocational education strongly preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment. Valid driver’s license; CDL A highly desired and mandatory in some locations. State license as required. Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc. Additional Requirements Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire. Pass a Ryder drug test. Pass a DOT physical. Pass a Ryder road test. Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
