Forklift Operator

The Forklift Operator drives an industrial truck equipped with forklift, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in warehouse or factory.

Essential Functions:

1. Transport finished jobs or goods into correct areas

2. Move pallets of goods for jobs in process to appropriate area as needed

3. Place finished goods which are on a designated pallet to the correct location

4. Accurately complete forklift operator's checklist

5. Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues

6. Confer with managers to ensure coordination of other production lines

7. Conduct a physical inventory of all corrugated materials by performing daily cycle counts

8. Perform inventory audits on a daily basis or as needed

9. Maintain a clean and safe work area by moving empty pallets to a designated area

10. Assist supervisors on the production floor to maintain a safe work environment

11. Perform all functions accurately as required in our WMS system

12. Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Ability to pass certification to operate a forklift truck

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Safety sensitive position ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner

Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business

Ability to effectively work in teams

Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people

Ability to detect and respond to visual and audible safety warnings, including moving equipment, forklift horns, alarms, and warning lights, to safely perform the essential functions of the position.

Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles

Ability to interpret written and verbal instructions

Ability to work with plant management for required results

Ability to perform all computer functions as they pertain to the job

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

Ability to move and handle merchandise throughout the facility generally weighing up to 50 pounds

Must be able to stand for prolonged periods operating a forklift

Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending on the season
