Registered Nurse - NICU - Night Shift

This position is for full-time night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in our Level 4 NICU will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care for neonatal patients ranging from feeder growers to complex ICU cases. The RN will demonstrate competent nursing practice and will be involved in both routine and complex care assignments, with support from CNAs on 1:4 patient assignments.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, and care provided.
• Educate patients, family members, and caregivers regarding care and health needs.
• Make appropriate nursing assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers when necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current BLS Certification (AHA only) required.
• Current STABLE certification required.
• Current NRP certification required.
• RN License in the state of Texas or a compact license required.
