RN Special Procedures

Job Summary Observes, evaluates, and coordinates the care given to patients in the Special Procedures department. Participates in direct and indirect care of all related activities according to the policies, procedures, philosophy and mission of the organization. Position Details Contract position with 13‐week term, 40 hours per week, variable shift starting at 7, 8 or 9 AM. Call schedule after hours varies, but requires 07/20 start date. Location In‑Office | Los Angeles, CA, United States. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS OR HS‑ACLS OR RQIACLS) certification: Required Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS‑BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) certification: Required BSN preferred Registered Nurse experience with critical care, medical‑surgical, or in a Cardiac Cath Lab/Special Procedure department: Preferred Impella experience: Required Advanced Electrocardiogram (EKG) certification preferred Essential Functions Collect relevant data pertaining to the patient's health or situation. Analyze assessment data to identify diagnosis and care issues. Develop a plan prescribing interventions to attain outcomes. Implement the plan, coordinate care delivery, and promote a safe environment. Evaluate progress toward outcomes and identify patient outcomes. Connect electrocardiogram (EKG) leads and alert the doctor of any changes in patient condition. Record and analyze hemodynamic parameters, compute shunt and valve data. Monitor patient, interpret EKG and hemodynamic parameters, and report changes to the physician. Operate the computerized MIDAS system accurately and report significant data throughout procedures. Operate specialized equipment: Datascope Intra‑Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Baxter Cardiac Output, Automated Coagulation Timer (ACT) machine, American Optical Unistat Oximeter, Medrad injector, Life Pak, Defibrillator, Sony digital systems, GE Advantx X‑ray system. Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to provide safe, healing care. Offer learning opportunities to patients/family members and team members. Deliver health information directly to patients, families, and treatment teams. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
