FLSA: Seasonal Full-Time/Non-Exempt

Reports to : Seed Cleaning Manager

Start Date: June 15, 2026

End Date: August 10, 2026

Pay Scale: $18.00/hourly

Position Description

Heritage Growers is seeking a hardworking and detail-oriented Seasonal Demonstration Garden Field Technician to support the establishment, maintenance, and evaluation of demonstration garden plots. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for agriculture, horticulture, and hands-on fieldwork.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Assist with planting, transplanting, and maintaining demonstration plots
• Perform routing irrigation, pruning, weeding, and pest control activities
• Monitor plant health and report signs of disease, pests, or nutrient deficiencies
• Ensure garden areas are clean, organized, and presentable for tours and demonstrations
• Operate seed cleaning machinery
• Other tasks as necessary

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Passionate about learning
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, sun, wind, etc.)
• Proficiency in identifying seeds
• Able to quickly adapt and problem solve
• Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors, and managers at all times
• Track record of delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines 
• Ability to routinely lift 25-50 lb. bags of seed
• Prioritizes safety around equipment
• Reliable transportation to Colusa CA

Qualifications

• Some familiarity with native plants or willingness to learn
• Experience with power tools/air compressors
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
• Commitment and enthusiasm to carry out River Partners’ mission.
