Northern Nevada Medical Center is a 124-bed acute care hospital located on 23 hillside acres at 2375 E. Prater Way in Sparks, Nevada.

This Cook opportunity is either Full Time, Part Time or even per diem. Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Food & Nutrition Services Director, Supervisor, or Lead, the cook performs a variety of patient food service and dish duties. The cook will prepare appropriate food items for hospital patients, staff, and visitors according to recipes.

Job Duties: Determines types and quantities of all foods to be prepared by reviewing planned menus and printed tallies. Determines foods/supplies/equipment that are low in supply and uses list to communicate to Director/Supervisor. Also assists in putting foods/supplies away appropriately in designated storage area after delivery. Ensures meals are ready at specified times and consults with director/supervisor regarding use of leftover food. Prepares all foods according to approved recipes and to suitable appearance standards while using garnishes when appropriate.

Qualifications Job Requirements for Cook: One to three (1-3) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. High school graduate or equivalent. ServSafe Certification preferred within 6 months of hire.
