Urology / Surgery Services Assistant

Essential Functions

- Assist healthcare teams in providing direct patient care during urology / surgery procedures.

- Prepare patients for procedures, including positioning, draping, and emotional support.

- Set up and prepare urology / surgery equipment and instruments required for procedures.

- Ensure that all equipment is clean, sterilized, and in proper working condition.

- Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on equipment as required.

- Adhere to strict sterile techniques and infection control protocols during urology / surgery procedures.

- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by sterilizing instruments, preparing sterile trays, and properly disposing of contaminated items.

- Follow established infection control policies and procedures to prevent the spread of infections.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials: Experience in urology and/or surgery procedure 0-1 year preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of urology/surgery procedures, instruments, and equipment commonly used in urology/surgery practices.
• Understanding of sterile techniques, infection control practices, and patient safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and handle multiple tasks effectively.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations and demonstrate empathy towards patients.
