Provide comprehensive patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement individualized interventions, and evaluate outcomes Include patients and families in care planning and maintain therapeutic relationships throughout the healthcare continuum Recognize changes in patient condition and coordinate appropriate interventions and resources Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient-centered care Implement strategies to reduce patient risk and increase patient safety Assess patient and family readiness to learn and address learning needs Coordinate discharge planning using an interdisciplinary approach Apply evidence-based practice and nursing and regulatory standards Evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes and support shared governance initiatives Communicate effectively, provide feedback, resolve conflicts, and promote healthcare team collaboration Lead the care team and delegate appropriately to unlicensed personnel Identify patient-safety threats, report safety events and near misses, and assist with corrective actions Apply ethical decision-making and participate as an effective member of the patient care team Participate in quality and process improvement initiatives Engage in professional development, mentoring, required meetings, educational programs, and annual competencies Float across multiple acute-care facilities within the defined market as part of the Zone 2 multi-site float pool Requirements Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) Completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing Ability to provide holistic, patient- and family-focused care Ability to recognize situational changes requiring unplanned or unanticipated interventions Proficient computer skills, electronic mail, and electronic medical records systems Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and interpersonal skills Ability to develop rapport and maintain positive professional relationships with patients, team members, and physicians Ability to take initiative and work collaboratively Ability to make critical, independent decisions Excellent organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills Time management and multitasking skills in an interruption-heavy environment Coordination, collaboration, delegation, and team-building skills Ability to provide age-appropriate care and interpret age-specific patient data Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. over the head Ability to carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance Ability to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force Ability to perform a 150-lb. sliding transfer with a second person Functional speech, vision, hearing, touch, and fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job Must maintain annual educational requirements for hospital-based certifications Core Competencies Demonstrates comprehensive patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation while collaborating effectively with healthcare teams.
