Travel Nursing Job Details Location: Peoria, Illinois Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250 Assignment Length: 13 weeks Start Date: October 26, 2026 End Date: January 25, 2027 Hours: 36 hours per week Shift: 12-hour night shifts, typically 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend; Friday/Saturday nights Holiday Requirement: Holiday rotation per policy Call: Not required Orientation: Typically two 12-hour shifts with a unit preceptor Electronic Medical Record: EPIC Patient Ratios: Typically 5–6 patients per nurse on nights, with ratios varying by census and patient acuity Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements Active Illinois Registered Nurse license, or confirmation that the Illinois license application process has been initiated At least 1 year of acute-care hospital experience in a medical-surgical nursing setting Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills Ability to care for adult patients with varied medical diagnoses and changing acuity levels ACLS certification preferred for nurses interested in charge nurse responsibilities Willingness to float to other hospital units as needed Travel RN Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients with a variety of diagnoses Assess patient status, develop and update individualized plans of care, and evaluate treatment outcomes Safely administer medications and titrate heparin drips according to clinical protocols Monitor patients requiring oxygen therapy up to 6 liters by nasal cannula, as well as stable BiPAP or CPAP at night or as needed Monitor telemetry patients in collaboration with the remote telemetry team and respond appropriately to changes in rhythm or condition Attempt peripheral IV starts and coordinate with unit resources when additional assistance is needed Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, patient care technicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team Document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses accurately in EPIC Promote patient safety, patient education, comfort, and continuity of care throughout the travel assignment Apply now for this Medical-Surgical Travel RN opportunity in Peoria, Illinois, and join a collaborative acute-care healthcare team on the night shift.
