About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Land Use, Zoning & Environmental Attorney with 5+ years of experience to join a growing legal practice in White Plains, NY. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients on complex land use, zoning and environmental matters while helping navigate permitting, regulatory and compliance requirements.

You will join an established full-service law firm supported by 120+ attorneys with decades of collective legal experience. The team is committed to providing clients with quality counsel, practical solutions and personalized service while giving attorneys the opportunity to take ownership of sophisticated matters and build strong client relationships.

The ideal candidate will bring strong legal judgment, communication skills and a genuine interest in land use law. Experience in Real Estate, Zoning and Environmental law is preferred, and NYC zoning experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise clients on land use, zoning, environmental and related regulatory matters.
• Guide clients through permitting and compliance processes and help identify practical paths forward.
• Analyze legal and regulatory requirements while assessing and managing potential risks.
• Develop creative solutions to address complex land use and regulatory challenges.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and business professionals.
• Communicate complex or difficult legal issues clearly and professionally.
• Work independently with limited oversight while managing priorities and deadlines effectively.
• Collaborate with attorneys and professionals across the firm in a fast-paced environment.
• Support business development and relationship-building efforts; a small book of business is preferred but not required.

Required Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in New York.
• 5+ years of experience in Land Use, Zoning and Environmental law.
• Strong interest and demonstrated experience in land use law.
• Experience in related Real Estate, Zoning or Environmental law preferred.
• NYC zoning experience is a plus.
• Small book of business preferred, but not required.
• Strong client relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written, verbal and public speaking abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, remain flexible and prioritize effectively.
• Strong decision-making skills with the ability to assess and manage legal risks.
• Creative and solutions-oriented approach to achieving organizational and client objectives.
• Collaborative, proactive mindset with the ability to communicate difficult messages professionally.
• Comfortable working with professionals at all levels, including senior management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary: $145,000 $195,000, commensurate with experience
