Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Infusion Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (08:30 - 17:00) Experience: Minimum 1 year required; previous infusion center and outpatient oncology experience required; previous charge nurse experience preferred. License: Active RN license required. Certifications: BLS, ONS/ONCC required; ACLS and OCN preferred. Must-Have: - Knowledge of accessing and managing ports. - Experience with administration of chemotherapy and blood products. - Understanding of acute tumor lysis syndrome and other oncology treatments. - Strong patient and family education skills. - Ability to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values. Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in Infusion. This position requires experience in an infusion center or outpatient oncology. Candidates should have a minimum of one year of experience. Flexibility with scheduling is essential, with a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences. The candidate must be aware of the Pass Fail EKG exam required for compliance. This role involves treating patients with various solid tumor cancers, lymphomas, chronic leukemia, and other diagnoses. Special procedures include bone marrow aspirations and various forms of chemotherapy. The nurse will utilize specialized equipment and work as part of an interdisciplinary team. The patient care environment includes a mix of adult and geriatric populations. Daily census varies around 65-75 infusion patients, with a high volume of visits. This position may necessitate floating to different campuses as needed. Candidates should have strong skills in IV management and emergency response. All nurses must comply with safety protocols, including handling and disposal of cytotoxic materials. This role emphasizes the importance of care coordination and patient support throughout treatment.
