Underground Construction Technician

Job Details We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consulting Fiber Construction Technician to join our team. This role involves working on a variety of projects related to the construction, installation, and maintenance of fiber optic networks. The position includes both office and field work. Responsibilities Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic cables, both above ground and underground. Conduct site surveys to determine the best routes for cable installation. Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to design and develop fiber optic networks. Ensure all work complies with relevant codes and regulations. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fiber optic networks. Provide technical guidance and expertise to clients and team members. Prepare and present reports on project progress and other relevant matters. Assist with project management tasks, such as planning, scheduling, and budgeting. Stay updated with the latest developments in fiber optic technology. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years' experience in telecom construction, specifically with underground cable. Proven experience in fiber optic network construction and maintenance. Strong understanding of fiber optic technology and its applications. Excellent problem-solving abilities. Ability to work in various weather conditions and physical environments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in using various tools and equipment used in fiber optic cable installation and maintenance.
