Job Summary Summary Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary healthcare environment through routine cleaning, disinfection, waste removal, and infection prevention practices. Ensures assigned patient and non-patient care areas meet established cleanliness and safety standards. Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions Perform cleaning and disinfection duties in accordance with established schedules, infection prevention standards, and departmental procedures. Collect, transport, and dispose of waste streams according to regulatory and organizational guidelines. Clean and service assigned patient care and non-patient care areas to maintain a safe, sanitary, and orderly environment. Move furniture, equipment, and supplies throughout the medical center as needed to support operational needs. Operate and maintain environmental services equipment, including floor machines and buffers. Maintain patient rooms, common areas, offices, and clinical spaces in a clean and presentable condition. Follow all safety, infection control, and environmental services policies and procedures. Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance concerns, or safety hazards to appropriate personnel. Participate in a minimum of eight departmental or unit meetings annually. Provide courteous and professional service to patients, visitors, and staff while supporting a positive healthcare environment. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Experience: Related experience 0-1 year preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply chemicals safely. Working knowledge of various cleaning tools like vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.
