About the Role TH Media is looking for a Videographer & Editor to bring our clients' stories to life through exceptional video. Most of your time will be spent creating social-first video content for our social media clients — short-form vertical video, interviews, project stories, educational content, recruiting content, and the consistent monthly storytelling that helps businesses build their brands online. You’ll also have opportunities to work on larger productions including testimonials, brand films, campaigns, commercials, and Premium Creative projects throughout Iowa and the Midwest. You’ll work closely with Content & Social Media Strategists, Client Success Managers, and our Video Production team. Our Strategists help determine what stories we should tell, who we’re trying to reach, and why the story matters. Your job is to bring the production expertise and creative instincts that determine how we tell that story exceptionally well. That means this role is about more than knowing how to operate a camera. You’ll regularly work with business owners, executives, employees, customers, and people who may have never been on camera before. You need to be able to walk into an unfamiliar business, understand what we’re trying to accomplish, make people comfortable, recognize great moments, and come away with the footage needed to tell the story. This is a role for someone who loves the craft but doesn’t need every project to be a massive production. You should care just as much about making a 30-second social video exceptional as you do a brand film. Our goal is to produce a high volume of content without ever making the work feel high-volume. Key Responsibilities Social-First Production (~70%) Plan, shoot, and edit social-first video content for our ongoing social media clients Create content built to earn attention through strong visuals, hooks, storytelling, pacing, sound, captions, and platform-native creative choices. Partner with Content & Social Media Strategists to turn strategy and concepts into strong production plans and finished content. Arrive at shoots prepared, understand what needs to be captured, and recognize additional story opportunities in the moment. Capture photography and occasional mobile-first content when the client, platform, or moment calls for it. Bring new production techniques, formats, trends, and creative ideas to the team rather than simply executing a shot list. Shoot and edit for marketing and advertising campaigns, brand films, commercials, customer testimonials, and other high-end video productions. Execute professional camera, lighting, and audio setups across a wide range of production environments. Own assigned edits from footage organization and rough cut through final delivery, including color, sound, captions, and motion graphics as needed. Support larger productions through camera operation, lighting, audio, second-unit coverage, and other production responsibilities. Maintain organized project files, footage, media, and archives according to TH Media production standards. Continually sharpen your craft and help raise the quality and consistency of video work across TH Media Work closely with Content & Social Media Strategists, Client Success Managers, and the Director of Video Production to make sure the work supports the client's strategy and expectations. Build trust with the clients and people you work with while representing TH Media professionally on every shoot. Manage multiple clients, shoots, edits, revisions, and deadlines without sacrificing quality. Take ownership of assigned work from production planning through final delivery. Bring a creative point of view — don't just execute what's handed to you. Look for opportunities to make the story and final product better. What We're Looking For A strong portfolio or reel is required. Applicants without examples of their video work will not be considered. Experienced in professional video production, with 2+ years of shooting and editing experience, ideally including social media content for brands or local businesses. Fluent in short-form content — You understand what makes short-form content work and how shooting and editing for social differs from traditional video production. Strong technically — camera, lighting, and audio on set; confident in your edit, color, and sound work in post. Able to carry long-form storytelling, understanding that video is not one size fits all. Organized enough to manage multiple clients and monthly deadlines at the same time. Comfortable on location with business owners and their teams, and good at putting people at ease on camera. Willing to travel for shoots across Iowa and the Midwest. Someone who brings a strong creative point of view and isn't afraid to advocate for the better creative choice. Bonus points if you also bring: photography experience, drone experience, or additional post-production capabilities. Why This Role Matters Video is at the center of how TH Media tells stories.
