Job Title: Cleaner – Data Center Construction Site
Job Description

This role focuses on performing detailed final cleaning for a data center construction project, ensuring that server rooms and related areas meet strict cleanliness and safety standards. You will work in an active commercial and industrial construction environment, cleaning server racks, floors, and high surfaces to support a safe, organized, and professional facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform final cleaning of data center areas, including server rooms and adjacent spaces, to meet project cleanliness standards.
• Wipe down server racks, equipment surfaces, and related fixtures to remove dust and debris.
• Sweep, mop, and dust floors, walkways, and other facility surfaces throughout the work area.
• Work at heights up to approximately 8 feet on ladders to dust servers, wires, and elevated surfaces using broom dusters or similar tools.
• Use appropriate cleaning tools and equipment, including brooms, mops, dusters, and, when required, lifts, in a safe and effective manner.
• Follow all site safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to construction site rules.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, promptly addressing dust, debris, and spills.
• Collaborate with site personnel and follow instructions from supervisors to complete cleaning tasks on schedule.
• Report any safety hazards, equipment issues, or facility concerns to the appropriate onsite contact.
• Support additional cleaning tasks as needed in a commercial or industrial construction environment.

• Prior cleaning experience, ideally in a commercial or industrial environment.
• Experience working on commercial or industrial construction sites.
• Ability to perform sweeping, mopping, dusting, and general housekeeping tasks for extended periods.
• Comfort working at heights, including standing on ladders up to approximately 8 feet.
• Capability to use broom dusters and other tools to clean elevated servers, wires, and fixtures.
• Familiarity with scissor lifts or boom lifts and related lift certification, or ability to obtain required lift certification.
• Understanding of basic construction site safety practices and PPE usage.
• Reliability and consistency in following instructions and completing assigned tasks.
• Physical ability to stand, climb, bend, and lift as needed in a construction environment.

• Janitorial or sanitation experience in any setting.
• Customer service experience involving direct interaction with customers or clients.
• Experience operating buffers or other powered cleaning equipment.
• Previous experience in data center, industrial, or large commercial facilities cleaning is a plus.

You will join a long-term project with stable, consistent weekday hours and the opportunity to remain on site for a year or more. As additional data center projects open in the Amarillo area, you may have the chance to transition to other sites, supporting ongoing employment and skill development in a growing sector. The environment emphasizes safety, proper training, and providing the equipment you need to perform your job effectively.

Work Environment

This role is based at a data center construction site in the Amarillo area, working primarily Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will operate in an active commercial and industrial construction environment that involves dust, noise, and frequent movement of personnel and equipment. Work includes climbing ladders, working at heights, and potentially using scissor or boom lifts once properly certified. Personal protective equipment is required; jeans and steel-toe boots are mandatory, while additional PPE is provided on site. You will use standard cleaning tools and may work around specialized equipment such as server racks and industrial cleaning machines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Claude, TX.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
