Location: East Orange Area, NJ
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6.5 Hours/Day | 32.5 Hours/Week
School Year: September 2026 – June 2027
Setting: Public School | Onsite
Pay: $52–$58/hour | Up to $60/hour for highly qualified candidates

Certified Special Education Teachers Needed – Multiple Openings

We are hiring multiple NJ-certified Special Education Teachers for full-time opportunities during the 2026–2027 school year .

Immediate needs include High School Autism Levels 1 & 2 , along with additional Special Education classroom opportunities.

What You'll Do

• Provide specialized instruction in accordance with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

• Develop and implement appropriate instructional strategies and accommodations

• Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals

• Maintain an organized, structured and supportive classroom environment

• Support students' academic, behavioral, social and functional development

• Collaborate with case managers, Child Study Team members, related-service providers and school staff

• Participate in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary planning as appropriate

• Maintain required Special Education documentation and compliance standards

Must Have

• Current New Jersey teaching certification

• NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) or Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH) endorsement

• Appropriate NJ instructional certification for assigned grade level and/or subject

• Experience working with students receiving Special Education services

• Knowledge of IEP implementation, progress monitoring and classroom accommodations

• Ability to work onsite Monday–Friday for the full school year

Highly Preferred

• Previous Autism classroom experience

• Experience with High School Autism Levels 1 & 2

• Self-contained classroom experience

• Experience supporting students with behavioral needs

• Knowledge of positive behavioral interventions and supports

• Previous public or charter school Special Education experience

Compensation

$52–$58/hour based on certification, Special Education experience and assignment.

Highly qualified candidates with directly relevant Autism/Special Education experience may be considered up to $60/hour.
