Job Title: Instrumentation Technician II

Pay Rate: $30–$33/hr
Schedule: 40 hours/week (Preferred: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, flexible)
Location: Onsite – San Diego, CA

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Technician II responsible for calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of laboratory equipment. This role requires strong technical expertise, documentation skills, and the ability to work independently within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of laboratory equipment
• Execute and document validation activities accurately and on time
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and SOPs
• Maintain equipment records, logs, and data in system databases
• Support equipment inventory reconciliation and refurbishment activities
• Assist in training end users on calibration practices and preventive maintenance
• Manage multiple tasks and priorities in a time-sensitive environment
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and company procedures
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders

Requirements

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or certification (preferred)

Experience:

• 5–7 years of experience with laboratory or hospital equipment
• Minimum 5 years experience working with ISO standards (ISO 9001, 10012, 17025, or 13485)

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of calibration principles and terminology
• Experience with troubleshooting and repairing lab equipment
• Ability to read schematics and use electronic test equipment
• Experience with databases/tools such as SAP, CalMan, Microsoft Access, Excel
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting equipment
• Ability to work with hand and power tools
• Ability to work in confined spaces and on live electrical equipment
• Occasional overtime may be required
