Registered Manager

About the Role As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of our children’s residential home located in York, supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and other additional complex needs. You will play a key role in establishing and developing this new service, ensuring high‑quality care delivery while maintaining full compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements. This is a unique opportunity to help shape and embed best practice across this home from the outset, ensuring outstanding outcomes for the children and young people we support. Responsibilities Lead, manage, and support teams of Support Workers and Senior Support Workers across the home. Act as a corporate parent to the children we care for, ensuring they thrive in their day‑to‑day lives. Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the residential home located in York, supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and other additional complex needs. Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive environment where children and staff can thrive. Establish and develop the new service, ensuring high‑quality care delivery while maintaining full compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements. Shape and embed best practice across the home from the outset, ensuring outstanding outcomes for the children and young people we support. Lead Ofsted home inspections. Essential Qualifications Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) (or equivalent). Minimum of 3 years’ experience in children’s residential care, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role. In‑depth knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, and relevant legislation in children’s services. Experience in planning and implementing care plans and maintaining documentation to a high standard in line with Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards. Experience supporting children and young people with learning disabilities who may display complex behaviours. Experience leading Ofsted home inspections.
