Supported by dedicated Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and a collaborative hospitalist team, you will maximize your time in the operating room while maintaining an excellent, predictable quality of life. Description & Responsibilities As an Orthopedic Surgeon within BJC Medical Group, you will deliver high-quality, comprehensive musculoskeletal care through direct patient care, surgical intervention, and outpatient clinical management. Key responsibilities include Clinical & Surgical Care : Provide top-tier orthopedic medical and surgical services, managing a robust clinical panel at designated clinic and hospital outreach sites. Specialty Focus : Lead full-scope general orthopedic care, with an advantageous focus on total joint replacement procedures to meet high community demand. Collaborative Practice : Work alongside and mentor advanced practice providers (APPs), support staff, and a multi-disciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes. Inpatient Operations : Document medical histories, perform physicals, and manage inpatient panels. Hospitalists manage primary medical admissions, allowing you to focus strictly on orthopedic consultation and surgical management. Manageable Call Rotation : Participate in a balanced 1:4 call schedule shared across the team, featuring infrequent weekend call-ins. Administrative Diligence : Maintain thorough and timely electronic medical records, manage MyChart patient consultations, and review inbasket communications. Requirements Doctorate of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). Open to both new graduates ( Board-Certified or Board-Eligible (BC/BE) in Orthopedic Surgery; holding or eligible for an unrestricted Missouri medical license. Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and prioritize safety-sensitive procedures; strong interpersonal skills for team collaboration and patient communication.
