Job Number R0239852 The Opportunity Everyone is trying to harness the cloud, but not everyone knows how. As a DevOps engineer, you will develop, manage, and secure a container platform that meets client needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. You will develop container management software to solve some of our clients’ toughest challenges. As a platform DevOps engineer at Booz Allen, you will strengthen your technical skills using the latest technologies, look for ways to improve your client’s environment with current container software, and ensure seamless orchestration. You will support your team, inform strategy and design, and ensure standards are met throughout the containerization process. You will work with your team to recommend resources that help your client manage and securely adopt containers. Additionally, you will gain DevOps skills and experience while supporting the development of critical cloud platforms. Responsibilities Use cloud platform technology to develop and maintain container platforms. Develop, manage, and secure container platforms. Recommend suitable resources for secure container adoption. Support team strategy, design, and standard enforcement throughout containerization. Qualifications 3+ years of experience with containerization and container orchestration platforms, including Docker or Kubernetes 2+ years of experience managing tools deployed with Helm, and with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef Experience working with application development teams across the software development lifecycle and creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative environment Experience hosting applications on commercial cloud providers or on-premises Knowledge of container networking, monitoring, and storage solutions Secret clearance Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience in DevOps in lieu of a degree Nice to Have Experience identifying and implementing automation to improve user experience Experience administering Linux systems Experience automating CI/CD pipelines with tools including Jenkins or GitLab Experience hosting applications on commercial cloud providers including AWS, Azure, or GCP Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Linux Shell Script Knowledge of creating and improving continuous automation across multiple technical stacks Knowledge of triaging and resolving issues related to both open source and commercial tools in public cloud environments Clearance Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
