Traveling Data Center Network Specialist – Entry Level / Paid Training

Location: Must be able to attend initial training in Phoenix AZ, then work will be done at Meta Data Centers Nationwide

Schedule: 60–72 hours per week

Employment: Full-time traveling position

Trying to break into IT, networking or Data Center Infrastructure but finding that every opening asks for experience? Outsource is hiring entry-level Traveling Data Center Network Specialists for hands-on infrastructure work at Meta data centers across the country.

You’ll receive paid training and work alongside Meta employees and experienced project teams while learning to audit, validate, test, and troubleshoot the physical infrastructure behind large-scale networks.

This is not a help desk, desktop support, software development, or network engineering position. It combines technical validation and troubleshooting with physical low-voltage installation work. It’s an opportunity to turn your technical interests into practical field experience while building a foundation for future infrastructure-focused roles.

What you’ll do

• Execute network audits and verify cable connections, port assignments, labels, and installed infrastructure against project documentation.
• Validate structured cabling infrastructure and identify installation discrepancies.
• Perform cable and connectivity testing, document results, and report issues requiring correction.
• Troubleshoot physical connectivity issues by tracing cable routes, checking patching, inspecting connections, and verifying labels.
• Support network provisioning readiness by confirming that cabling, connections, and documentation are complete and ready for the next project phase.
• Pull, route, secure, dress, and label copper and fiber-optic cabling.
• Assist with terminations, patch panels, fiber connections, rack organization, and cable management as trained and assigned.
• Support cable pathway installation, including cable trays, ladder racks, and related infrastructure.
• Follow drawings, cable schedules, work instructions, and site-specific procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow strict safety, security, and quality standards.

Who this opportunity fits

• Candidates pursuing a career in IT, networking, telecommunications, or data center infrastructure.
• Recent graduates of IT, networking, computer science, technical-school, or related programs.
• Candidates with CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA coursework, home-lab experience, or an interest in how networks connect.
• Technically minded individuals who enjoy troubleshooting, following detailed procedures, and working with their hands.
• People willing to start with physical infrastructure and build their skills through real project experience.

Certifications and previous technical experience are helpful, but not required . Paid training is provided.

Requirements and travel expectations

• Willingness and availability to travel nationwide for project assignments.
• Availability to work 60–72 hours per week, including required overtime.
• Comfort performing physical installation work—not just computer-based tasks.
• Strong attention to detail when checking connections, labels, drawings, and test results.
• Ability to follow established procedures and communicate findings clearly.
• Ability to work safely on ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and remain active throughout the shift.
• Reliable transportation, dependable attendance, and a professional approach to working with customer teams.

This is a full-time traveling role, not a remote position or a local-only assignment.

Pay and training

• Regular pay: $22/hr.
• Overtime pay: $31/hr.
• Per diem: $1,400/month while on eligible travel assignments.
• Paid training for entry-level candidates.
• Expected schedule: 60–72 hours per week.

Build your technical foundation

Instead of waiting for your first technical opportunity, gain experience with network audits, connectivity troubleshooting, structured cabling validation, testing, and documentation inside major data centers.

This work can strengthen your background for future data center technician, fiber, network infrastructure, quality-control, and field leadership opportunities. Advancement depends on your performance, continued learning, and available openings—it is not a guaranteed move into IT or direct employment with Meta.

Apply with your resume and include any relevant coursework, certifications, home-lab projects, technical experience, or hands-on trade experience.
