Aerospace CNC Production Operator — Hamilton, OH

Mural Group Industrial is partnering with a precision CNC shop in Hamilton, Ohio to add a second-shift operator. It’s a direct-hire role supporting a growing aerospace machining operation that produces complex, tight‑tolerance components on advanced equipment.

Second shift is a hard requirement: 1pm–10pm, Monday–Friday.

A day on second shift

Clock in at 1:00 pm. You meet up with the senior machinist you’ll support, review the job queue, and verify your machines are on-spec from the prior run. Through the shift you rotate between an Okuma LB‑series lathe and a Makino or Matsuura 5‑axis mill, watching cycle behavior, chip load, and surface finish. When something looks off, you don’t just hit reset—you investigate, measure, and adjust. You execute tool changes, help with changeovers, and keep parts moving safely between ops without interrupting cycle time. Before 10:00 pm, you document production in the ERP, tidy the cell, and stage for lights‑out where applicable.

Your impact

• Continuously monitor CNC machines during production and act quickly when anything looks out of spec.
• Partner with the on-shift machinist to run job changeovers, tool swaps, and in‑process checks.
• Perform fundamental dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other hand metrology.
• Load, unload, and handle parts with care—without disrupting machine cycles.
• Support automation cell operation and lights‑out machining as needed.
• Maintain accurate production records and traceability in the shop ERP system.
• Keep the work area organized and safe.

Tools and machines you’ll touch

Okuma LB‑series lathes, Makino and Matsuura 5‑axis mills, Mori Seiki NT mill‑turn, and Brother mill centers—building complex aerospace parts to demanding tolerances.

What you bring

• 1–4 years of CNC machine operation in a production setting.
• Beyond load‑and‑go: you can recognize a process drifting and know when to intervene.
• Reliability on a two‑person second shift—call‑outs impact production immediately.
• Comfort committing to second shift (1pm–10pm) long term.
• Local to the Hamilton–Cincinnati–Dayton area and available on‑site full time.

What helps you stand out

• Experience with Okuma, Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Mitsubishi, or similar CNC controls.
• Working knowledge of basic GD&T and precision inspection methods.
• Background in aerospace, defense, or precision contract machining.
• Exposure to automation‑assisted or lights‑out machining cells.
• Motivation to grow into setup and full machinist responsibilities over time.

Schedule & compensation

• Fixed second shift—same hours weekly, no rotation.
• Direct hire placement (not contract, not 1099).
• Pay: Advertised range of $28–$35/hr ; typical offer $28–$33/hr depending on experience.
