Job Details Location: East Syracuse, NY 13057 Position Type: Per Diem Education Level: None Salary Range: $22.00 per hour Job #MG-AB Arise is seeking a male Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work with an active and creative young man with a developmental disability. In this role, you will assist him with accessing college and work in his home and community. In the community, he values accessing piano lessons, community events, and opportunities for social interaction. He is working on independent living skills such as maintaining his belongings and cleaning up after himself. He enjoys cooking, shopping, biking, and music. The ideal candidate will have a fun sense of humor, effective communication skills, and strong organizational skills. Responsibilities Assist with independent living skills, including maintaining belongings and cleaning up after himself. Support health and safety and pursue personal interests such as piano lessons, community events, and social interaction. Help the individual access college and work opportunities. Engage with the individual in cooking, shopping, biking, and music activities. Provide assistance in a flexible and supportive manner as needed. Schedule 10 hours anytime Monday through Thursday in the afternoons and/or evenings. Will consider different schedules for the right applicant. Qualifications Must have a valid NYS driver’s license. Effective communication and organizational skills required. Flexibility with assignments and schedule required. Reliable transportation to arrive at job site on time. Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy. Benefits All mileage accrued while with the individual is reimbursed.
