Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking an ABEM-certified Emergency Medicine Physician for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Avon, Indiana , on the west side of the Indianapolis metro.

This opportunity is designed for an experienced, residency-trained Emergency Medicine physician looking for meaningful recurring monthly coverage rather than scattered PRN shifts . The current need is approximately 6–10 shifts per month , with a mix of days, nights, and weekends in a full-service community hospital environment.

Schedule & Coverage
The current staffing need is approximately 6–10 shifts per month .
Physicians must be willing to participate in a balanced coverage schedule that includes:

• Day shifts
• Overnight shifts
• Weekend coverage

Day shifts are included in the schedule; however, this opportunity is not appropriate for physicians seeking day-only coverage .

Practice Environment
Practice broad-spectrum Emergency Medicine in a well-supported community hospital serving the greater Indianapolis area.

The environment offers the clinical breadth and acuity of community Emergency Medicine while providing access to the resources of a full-service hospital and an established clinical team.

Physicians can expect to work alongside Emergency Medicine clinicians, APPs, nursing staff, and available hospital resources while independently evaluating and managing Emergency Department patients.

Clinical Scope
Responsibilities include the full scope of Emergency Medicine practice:

• Evaluation and stabilization of Emergency Department patients
• Acute medical and traumatic presentations
• Diagnostic evaluation and treatment
• Emergency procedures within physician competency
• Resuscitation and code response
• Patient disposition
• Admission and transfer decision-making
• Collaboration with APPs, nursing, and hospital-based services
• Timely clinical documentation

Physician Requirements

• MD or DO
• Completion of an Emergency Medicine residency
• ABEM Board Certification
• Recent Emergency Medicine clinical experience
• Ability to provide overnight and weekend coverage
• Ability to commit approximately 6–10 shifts per month
• Cerner experience preferred
