You will be involved throughout the sales process-from building relationships and evaluating customer needs to developing scopes, preparing estimates, presenting proposals, and closing business.If you understand commercial HVAC, enjoy building relationships, and are motivated by the opportunity to grow your earnings and your book of business, we want to talk with you.Why Join Jacobs?Family-owned and operated for more than 73 yearsPaid time off6 paid holidaysMedical and dental insurance with 85% of employee premiums paid by the company401(k) after one year with a 50% company match on contributions up to the first 6% of salaryCareer development and advancement opportunitiesEstablished reputation throughout the Portland and Vancouver marketCollaborative support from operations, project management, and installation teamsWhat You'll Be DoingAs our Commercial HVAC Sales Representative, you will be responsible for developing new commercial opportunities while managing the estimating and proposal process needed to convert those opportunities into profitable projects.Your responsibilities will include:Develop and maintain relationships with commercial customers, general contractors, mechanical engineers, property managers, and other industry partnersProspect for new business and identify commercial HVAC sales opportunities throughout the marketBuild and maintain a pipeline of current and future opportunitiesMeet with customers to understand their HVAC needs, project requirements, timelines, and budgetsConduct site visits and participate in pre-bid meetings and project walk-throughsReview construction plans, specifications, and site conditionsDevelop project scopes and prepare detailed HVAC estimatesObtain and evaluate equipment, material, subcontractor, and vendor pricingPrepare professional proposals, bid documents, and sales presentationsPresent recommended solutions and explain project scope, pricing, and value to customersFollow up consistently on open proposals and opportunitiesNegotiate and close commercial HVAC projects while protecting company profitabilityCollaborate with engineering, project management, installation, and operations teams to ensure projects are properly scopedMaintain organized records of customer activity, estimates, proposals, and sales opportunitiesTrack sales activity and pipeline progressEnsure proposals and estimates align with company financial goals and Jacobs' standards for quality and customer serviceHelp identify opportunities to expand relationships with existing commercial customersWhat We're Looking For5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC sales, estimating, design/build, project development, or a related commercial construction fieldStrong understanding of commercial HVAC and mechanical systemsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documentsExperience developing scopes, estimates, proposals, or project pricingStrong relationship-building and consultative sales skillsComfortable prospecting, following up, and asking for the businessAbility to manage multiple opportunities, bids, and deadlines simultaneouslyStrong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communicationStrong negotiation and presentation skillsHigh attention to detail and commitment to accuracyProficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating or CRM softwareServiceTitan experience is a plusValid driver's license and clean driving recordTake Ownership of Your MarketWe're looking for someone who combines technical HVAC knowledge with a strong sales mindset.
