ORGANIZATION SUMMARY World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war‑torn Europe. Since then, for 80 years, across 100 countries, World Relief has partnered with local churches and communities to build a world where families thrive and communities flourish. Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy. POSITION SUMMARY World Relief seeks a School Age Programs Specialist to help expand our school age programs and services this summer. Our school age program offerings include an individualized tutoring support program and a crafts‑based youth engagement group program. In addition, through the Family Support Services (FSS) program, we offer individualized support to children and families in accessing and navigating various school systems and academic and enrichment opportunities. Overall, our programs aim to support and invest in refugee and immigrant children and their families through strengths‑based, culturally responsive, and healing‑centered wraparound programs that are focused on holistic development, educational support, community integration and a sense of belonging. This is a temporary full‑time position funded through a grant agreement for up to 90 days and contingent upon funding extension. Outreach, Enrollment and Intake Support the expansion of the school‑age FSS program through community outreach and follow up on referrals from within WRWW, community partners, and direct family requests. Follow all due intake and enrollment process. Family Engagement Partner with families in a culturally responsive and healing centered framework—assessing their requirements, setting goals based on strengths and barriers, facilitating community and resource connections, and offering them relevant supports. Ensure sustained engagement through active follow‑up and relationship‑building with families. As needed, provide home‑visits and accompany families to help with navigating systems and resources. Resources and Systems Navigation Assist and support with school navigation including any school registrations, IEP or 504 plans, and other academic or English language learning needs for the students. Research and facilitate connection of families with enrichment opportunities and tutoring support. Provide support with accessing resources for the behavioral and mental health needs of students. Summer School Age Programs Support the implementation and facilitation of our summer school age programs for immigrant and refugee youth in North Seattle and South King County sites. The group activities are run weekly at each program site for 6 weeks in the Summer. Community and School Partnerships Continue to build the resources list and establish connections with local organizations & partners to continue expand resource connections and opportunities for refugee and immigrant families and children. Family Engagement Events Support with coordinating and organizing family engagement events, programs, and training/workshops. Coordinate and support initiatives to provide family resources and meet felt needs (e.g., backpack drives). Assessments Administer student assessments and parent feedback surveys to support the program's learning and evaluation efforts. Documentation Use internal tools and database to collect, track and update participant information, documents, case notes, feedback, and other program details. Work closely with the Coordinators and Program Manager to ensure all programs data are recorded in a timely manner. School Success Coaches Work alongside the program coordinator in the expansion of the hybrid tutoring program “School Success Coaches” by supporting with outreach and enrollment tasks, procuring and distributing resources/supplies for students, assisting with the planning and facilitation of in‑person activities, and any parent communication and follow‑ups for participant families, as needed. Teamwork Assist the rest of the Children and Family programs team with work planning, services, and support with other planned program activities as needed. Contribute overall programming with insights and expertise to strengthen the programming to best serve our families and children in the community. Other related duties as assigned. Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief. At least 1–2 years of experience working directly with students and families in a school setting or in a role that supports them with accessing community resources and navigating systems. Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, collaboratively, and positively with caregivers, students, volunteers, and other staff. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability and willingness to travel to participant homes, and partner/program sites. Valid Driver's license and ability to pass a driving record check. Current (or ability to quickly secure) CPR/First Aid Certification required. Individuals with lived immigrant/refugee experience strongly encouraged to apply. Strong collaboration skills to partner with students, caregivers, team members, and community partners. Creative, resourceful, and self‑motivated. Strong organization and time management skills. Cross cultural sensitivity and humility—demonstrate active listening and engaging with culturally diverse families and supporting them with goal setting and navigating language and cultural barriers in a respectful and productive manner. Experience with planning/coordinating programs and events for families and children is preferred. Experience implementing group activities for youth in classroom or outdoor settings. Proactive in building partnerships, researching resources, and facilitating opportunities for children and families. Accountable and thorough with excellent follow‑through on each task.
