JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: Y-NP-3499164 Profession: Nurse Practitioner Specialty: Surgery Cardiothoracic Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Flagstaff, AZ Service Setting: Hospital Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: Oct 24, 2026 – Jan 23, 2027 Clinical Shift Schedule: 4 days per month, 7a – 3p On-Call Shift Schedule: 4 days per month, 3p – 7a PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults, Geriatrics Patient Volume/Census: 10-15 CVICU/step down patients, plus 1-2 surgeries Case Mix: Cardiothoracic FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 199 EMR System: Cerner Specialty Backup Available: Surgeon PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 30 days REQUIRED PROCEDURES temporary pacemaker removal chest tube removal IABP removal Aline placement proficient with EVH JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active AZ license Board: BC/BE (NCCPA) DEA: Yes Certifications: BLS, ACLS Experience: Minimum 3 years in cardiothoracic surgery with EVH Other Qualifications: Graduate from NCCPA-approved program or Master's Degree in Nursing DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide coverage in CT Surgery department managing 10-15 CVICU/step down patients per day Assist in 1-2 cardiothoracic surgeries per day Perform special procedures including temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and Aline placement Take call from 3p – 7a on coverage days Utilize proficiency with EVH (endoscopic vein harvesting) during surgical cases
