Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 6 months gap required between for Any Contract Type at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: PCU experience is not required; will accept MS/tele experience only.

Preferred Skills/Experience: 2 years of oncology experience preferred. Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Special Requests: Cannot apply to any James Cancer Hospital & Research facilities if you have an active application to any Ohio State University facilities.

Unit Details: Mixed acuity PCU/MS Tele unit caring for medical oncology patients. Adult and geriatric patient population. Variety of diagnoses from solid tumors to some blood cancers. High-acuity patient population. Pediatric patients are extremely rare and are typically cared for by permanent staff; pediatric experience is not required. Uses GE telemetry monitor system, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, continuous bladder irrigation, and PCA pumps.

Shift & Scheduling: If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on department needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period; changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time. Weekend shifts are variable.

Floating Requirements: Required to float to other MS Tele units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
