Lead Line Cook

BakeChop is hiring an experienced Lead Line Cook to join our BOH team in Downtown DeLand. We are expanding to 7 days a week , so OPEN AVAILABILITY IS REQUIRED , including weekdays, nights, and weekends. We are looking for someone who can work the line, lead by example, stay organized, and help keep the kitchen moving. This is a hands on leadership position for someone who is confident during busy service and takes ownership of their station and the kitchen around them. WHAT YOU’LL DO Work multiple stations and execute food consistently during busy service Read tickets quickly and accurately while maintaining strong ticket times Cook burgers and proteins accurately to requested temperatures Help lead and support the line during service Keep stations stocked, organized, clean, and ready for service Assist with prep and make sure the kitchen is set up for success Help create weekly specials and new menu ideas Maintain recipe, portion, plating, and quality standards Help train and support newer BOH team members Participate in weekly deep cleaning and kitchen organization Communicate prep needs, low product, equipment issues, and operational concerns Jump in wherever needed and help the team get the job done WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO Has strong line cook experience in a high volume kitchen Has open availability and flexibility to work 7 days a week as scheduled Is comfortable working breakfast, lunch, and dinner service Can confidently read and manage tickets Can consistently cook burgers and proteins to proper temperature Has a strong sense of urgency without sacrificing quality Understands food safety, sanitation, and proper kitchen organization Is dependable and comes to work ready to work Can take direction while also taking initiative Enjoys being creative and contributing ideas for specials Holds themselves and the people around them to a high standard Is comfortable being a leader while still working alongside the team This is a great opportunity for an experienced cook who is ready to take on more responsibility and leadership while still being fully hands on in the kitchen.
