Summary Industrial Sites - The Security Officer ensures efficient and professional security operations at work sites within the appointed region. This position is a working level Security Officer who actively work onsite, securing the client’s property, location and deterring suspicious activity. Security Officers will report any suspicious activity immediately to the Security Corporal on location. Perform all essential functions of a Security Officer while at appointed site. Work to ensure that the assigned premises are kept safe and secure Regular walks around assigned perimeter Move blocker vehicles as needed Communicate effectively and regularly to team using assigned radio Identify and correct inefficiencies, liabilities, and safety hazards at appointed site Follow procedures to handling gates, lights, and visitor check ins Monitor assigned location with high degree of attentiveness to surroundings at appointed site Provide detailed information to authorities as needed Have NO use of force to protect property – Secure and Report ONLY Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or management Required Skills / Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy Utilize the company’s current scheduling and approving her/his weekly hours for payroll Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail is a must Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and adaptability to other related software Judgement and high level of integrity High initiative and reliability Ability to work in a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration, and teamwork Safely and legally operate a motor vehicle; Must have a valid and current Driver’s License Physical Demands Must be able to sit upright, stand, or walk for 100% of the shift as needed Must be able to quickly ascend and descend stairs and move as needed to secure premises Must be able to engage quickly physically to de-escalate or respond to security or safety threats Must be able to regularly get in and out of vehicles to perform tasks including moving blocker vehicles as needed Must have excellent visual and auditory acuity to see, hear, and interpret observable people, things, behavior, and speech. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
