Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Blood Bank

About The RoleAs a Blood Bank Technologist, you will perform complex testing procedures related to blood compatibility and transfusion support. The ideal candidate thrives in a detail-oriented environment and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, quality, and patient safety.ResponsibilitiesPerform immunohematology testing, including blood typing, antibody screening, and compatibility testingEvaluate and interpret serologic results to support transfusion decisionsPrepare, label, and issue blood products according to established guidelinesAssist with the investigation of transfusion-related events and discrepanciesMonitor quality control data and participate in quality improvement initiativesMaintain accurate laboratory records and documentationOperate, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipmentFollow regulatory, accreditation, and safety requirements at all timesWork collaboratively with laboratory staff and clinical teams to ensure timely patient careQualificationsBachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related scientific disciplineNew York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License requiredPrevious blood bank or transfusion medicine experience preferredStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently while managing multiple prioritiesWhat You'll FindFull-time permanent positionDay shift scheduleRotating weekends and holidaysModern laboratory environmentSupportive team culture with opportunities for professional growth
