Medical Assistant 4

The Medical Assistant 4 is the first contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative tasks in addition to patient care. The Medical Assistant 4 assumes ownership and leads advanced and specialized administrative/operational/customer support tasks that require independent initiative and judgment.

You will report to the Manager, Clinic/Center Administration.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform clinical responsibilities such as discussing symptoms and gathering information.
• Input information into the electronic medical records system.
• Take vital signs, give injections, and perform diagnostic tests.
• Collect specimens and draw blood.
• Sterilize and clean equipment and maintain examination rooms at an outpatient care site.
• Collaborate with Physicians and Nurses.
• Deliver direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows.
• Make decisions regarding the daily priorities for an administrative work group or external vendors. These decisions involve coordinating work activities and monitoring progress towards schedules/goals.
• Oversee the work of others.
• Be the primary administrative owner of a main process, program, product, or technology.
• Work within broad guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• Certified or Registered
• Phlebotomy Experience
• Medication/vaccine administration experience
• 3+ years MA Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• CPR Certified
• We consider this role patient facing and runs the Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, we will require you to screen for TB.

Other Qualifications

• 1+ years MA experience in PCO center
• Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience
• Leadership experience
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
