News Clerk

The Daily Inter Lake is seeking a detail-oriented News Clerk to support our newsroom operations. This part-time position plays a key role in managing obituary submissions, maintaining community event calendars, and assisting with content management tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Process and manage obituary submissions with accuracy and sensitivity
• Curate and update local event calendars for print and digital platforms
• Assist with content organization and basic newsroom administrative tasks
• Provide excellent customer service to community members and contributors
• Ensure deadlines are met through strong organizational and time management skills

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a deadline-driven environment
• Basic computer proficiency and comfort working with digital systems

Schedule & Compensation:

• 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Starting wage of $20 per hour
