2026 Salary Range: ($89,508 - $138,370) / Yearly with locality

The primary purpose of this position is To serve as the program manager for the environmental protection programs. As the program manager, the incumbent provides guidance in all matters concerning (1) hazardous waste handling, (2) storage and disposal, (3) pollution control, (4) is the directorate representative to other federal agencies, state and county agencies, base environmental management. Civil engineer and bio-environmental on all matters concerned with environmental compliance issues.

- Obtain & maintain Security clearance

- This may be a designated Drug Testing Position

- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical (if applicable)

- The employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include overtime, and/or days, swings, or owl shifts.

- The employee may occasionally travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft IAW Joint Travel Regulations to other government installations, contractor facilities, or other commercial Locations for both training and mission accomplishment.

- Assignments may require the incumbent to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate driver's license may be required for the position.

- May be required to obtain job-related certifications such as HAZWOPER, DOT, HAZWASTE, and/or RPM.

Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

1. Knowledge of professional environmental physical science, environmental engineering, or environmental protection principals, practices, techniques, and procedures to effectively perform project development, execution, training, and advisory services in assigned program element.

2. Knowledge to troubleshoot environmental problems requiring investigation of unsanitary or questionable conditions in assigned programs.

3. Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and other guidance to make decisions and recommendations concerning assigned restoration, compliance, conservation, pollution prevention, and/or integration principles and practices and health, safety, and security practices.

4. Skill to integrate an interdisciplinary team of professionals to include attorneys, public health specialists, public affairs specialists, biological scientists, environmental engineers, regulators, and other governmental officials, and community groups.

5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy and establish effective working relationships with others.
