Tackling litigation with technology is a deep challenge that requires search, databases, data visualization, distributed systems, machine learning, real-time collaboration, nifty user interfaces, and more. We do this by supporting and empowering our team members to do their best work, by tackling challenging and complex engineering problems, and by nurturing and supporting each team member through mentoring, coaching, and comprehensive feedback.At Everlaw, **our mission is to promote justice by illuminating truth**This is a full-time, hybrid position located in Oakland, California.### Getting started* **We want you to feel like part of the team early on!** Our onboarding process will integrate you into the company with informative sessions on our product, policies, processes, and team structure and goals.* **We’re excited for you to learn, grow, and contribute right away!** We trust that you’ll bring experience and knowledge that will uplift and uplevel the team, but we don’t expect you to know everything on Day 1.### In your role, you'll...* **Lead the design and implementation of release workflows** to automate the build, test and deployment of the Everlaw product.* **Develop and maintain** infrastructure as code (IAC) using tools such as Terraform, Helm and Ansible.* **Improve our on-call and incident management processes** by encouraging deeper understanding, communication, and trust.* **Support compliance efforts** by promoting continuous documentation of our processes and involvement in audits.* **Provide Technical Mentorship** to other engineers by both sharing your technical knowledge and becoming an expert in an area of our code base.* **Be a Code Reviewer by reviewing code developed by others using your knowledge of programming languages, design patterns, and best practices.****Contribute to documentation for internal engineering consumption or for external the Everlaw platform.*** **Be on-call** and respond to critical site reliability issues.* **Do technical interviews**to help us recruit engineers and grow the team.### About you* You have a **BS or MS in Computer Science**, or equivalent coursework.* You have at least **5 years of experience building distributed systems** in the cloud and experience with the best practices to test, maintain, and launch cloud based software.* You have at least **1 year of experience leading multi-developer efforts**, including planning, technical breakdown, and coordination.* You have **expertise building CI/CD workflows**, using tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab or Harness CD.* You have **expertise with application build tools**, such as Gradle or Bazel.* You have experience **managing cloud infrastructure** using Infrastructure as Code and container solutionssuch as Terraform, Helm, Ansible or Docker.* You have a **passion for automation and tooling** paired with experience building reusable tools.* **You have proficiency in coding in a language** such as C, C++, C#, Java, Python, Javascript, Go or Rust.* You have **excellent communication** and collaboration skills that can motivate and move the team towards a common direction.* **Please note that at this time, Everlaw is not sponsoring U.S. employment visas for this role.****Due to federal contract requirements, Everlaw may only hire US citizens for this position.****PLUSES*** **You have experience building solutions using OpenTelemetry.*** **You have experience with container technologies.**### Benefits* The expected salary range for this role is between **$164,000 and $208,000**. The final offered salary will be dependent upon many factors including the candidate’s experience and skills.
