Logistics Technician

Pay Rate: $25.00/hour
Location: Fremont, CA 4538
Duration: 6 month contract 

Position Overview

The Logistics Technician is responsible for supporting daily warehouse and logistics operations while maintaining high standards in safety, quality, accuracy, productivity, and security. This role involves receiving and shipping materials, managing inventory, and ensuring efficient warehouse operations. The technician must consistently demonstrate a strong customer service mindset and the ability to work independently across multiple tasks.

Schedule

• Full-time, 8-hour shifts (1st shift)
• May include a modified schedule to support late afternoon shipments
• Overtime may be required as needed

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

• Promote a “Do It Safe, Do It Right the First Time” culture
• Identify and report unsafe conditions or hazards
• Adhere to all safety policies, including HAZWOPER, ECP, LOTO, OSHA, and MSDS standards
• Participate in monthly safety meetings
• Ensure all operations are conducted safely and responsibly

Warehouse & Logistics Operations

• Receive, store, transfer, and ship materials and products
• Prepare cylinders for shipment (label removal, painting, inspection, labeling, scanning, palletizing) in accordance with Air Liquide and DOT requirements
• Load and unload trucks and sea containers using forklifts
• Perform proper blocking and bracing per IMO, IMDG, and Customs requirements
• Maintain a clean, organized, and secure warehouse environment

Shipping, Inventory & Systems

• Perform shipping and receiving transactions in ERP systems
• Ensure accuracy of all inventory and system data
• Prepare shipping documentation in compliance with company policy and DOT regulations
• Coordinate pickups and deliveries with carriers and internal locations
• Conduct inventory cycle counts and maintain accurate records

Team & Performance

• Meet daily productivity goals
• Follow all work instructions and processes
• Escalate safety or quality concerns as needed
• Complete all assigned training programs

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3+ years of experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, or warehouse operations
• Forklift certification
• Strong customer service orientation
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols
• Knowledge of hazardous materials, chemicals, and compressed gases
• Experience with IMO, AES, and ISF documentation
• Knowledge of 49 CFR, 15 CFR, DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and meet deadlines

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and move throughout a large warehouse for extended periods (8+ hours)
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
• Ability to climb ladders
• Manual dexterity for extended computer/data entry tasks
• Ability to pass a medical and respiratory test for use of a full-face respirator
